This is a special home, appreciated best by the discerning art-lover. Its walls are packed with art and the home’s delightful decor speaks to those who enjoy antiques, a taste of country style, and a little history

The house is on a corner block and wraps around three sides of the private courtyard, with its Tuscan flavour and sparkling pool. The living area sits alongside the length of the courtyard, with floor to ceiling glass, and the kitchen is positioned in the middle with bedrooms (and a study) at either end, three on the ground level and the fourth upstairs.

There are two lounge areas at each end of the living room, both with comfortable sofas, one with the TV and fireplace for cosy evenings, the other looking out to the pool. In between, the country style dining suite seats 10 and adjoins the semi-open kitchen off it. It is well-equipped with everything you’ll need and includes a free-standing oven, a dishwasher and microwave, and plenty of extras. There is a breakfast counter with stools.

Outdoors is terrific with its sparkling pool and large patio with an outdoor dining suite for 6 and an umbrella as well as bench seating. Lazy days by the pool are a must!

As well as the study, perfect if you need to keep up with work demands, there are 3 bedrooms downstairs: the master Queen (with a shower ensuite) opening to an additional courtyard via sliding doors, a double and a twin, also with a shower ensuite. They are all nicely appointed, again with a great many artworks and personal effects. The family bathroom has a shower, bathtub, vanity and toilet. Upstairs is a large loft style room with a Queen bed, sofa and air-conditioning. There are ceiling fans in most rooms, including the living area. All linen is included.

With a washing machine and dryer, WiFi and parking for one car, this is a great house from which to explore Paddington and the local areas, and in particular some local galleries. One is on the doorstep!

Please note: this property is a temporary listing while the family travels overseas - so while professionally cleaned and tidied before your arrival, there will be personal effects in place during your stay.

With no less than 8 high end galleries within 100 metres of the front door, this is the place for art-lovers. But that’s not all this locale has to offer. Trumper Park with its lovely walking tracks and fishing pond is a short walk to the east, as are local tennis courts, with Trumper Oval to the north. There is a small playground down the street for those with young children and Bondi Beach is a short drive away. Walk to Rushcutters Bay and around to Darling Point to explore the local foreshore - it’s delightful!

With Paddington Markets open at the weekend nearby and Oxford Street boutiques so close, there’s plenty of retail therapy to be had, should that be of interest. Edgecliff Station is a short walk away and trains will take you both into the city or to Bondi Junction where you’ll find a wealth of shopping options.

The local bus on Gurner Street will get you into the city even quicker, so don’t forget to explore the delights of Sydney such as the Art Gallery, Australian Museum, the Opera House and the Botanic Gardens, all so easily accessible.

There are a wealth of eateries in the area, from award-winning pubs to fine dining options, and several convenience stores and supermarkets in the vicinity.

With so much to explore and culture to absorb nearby, this characterful artist-lovers’ home offers a special glimpse into a unique side of Sydney. The owners hope you’ll enjoy and respect it as much as they do.
